The
Organization
The
Muskingum Growth partnership is organized as an operating division
of the Chamber of Commerce, which is a 501(c)(6) non-profit
corporation. The Growth Partnership’s funding and activities are
distinct yet coordinated with those of other Chamber divisions and
other agencies like the Zanesville-Muskingum County Port Authority. The
result is a strong, comprehensive program of work that takes a
unified approach to community and economic development.
The
investors in the Muskingum Growth Partnership act as the steering
committee for the program under the general governance of the
Chamber Board of Directors. The Chamber staff provides
administrative support.
Contributions to the program are maintained in a separate fund in
the Chamber accounting system and are used strictly for the
development purposes of the Partnership. An annual budget and
work plan is adopted by the investors to specify activities for the
coming year and to give focus to their development efforts.
Meetings of the investors in the Muskingum Growth
Partnership are held at least annually but generally not more often
than quarterly.
