Chamber
Opposes Mandatory Paid Sick Leave
The Chamber Board of
Directors voted this week to take a position
opposing the mandatory paid sick leave proposal
that will appear on the November ballot. This
measure, known as Issue 4, will require all
employers with 25 or more employees to provide
their workers with 7 paid sick leave days per
year.

that details its services to small businesses.

Listings
The Chamber is very pleased to introduce a new
service, which as a member you will receive
free. This new service is an expanded online
listing for your business, almost like your own
web page, within this website, zmchamber.com.
It can contain a description of your business,
up to 8 photographs, a link to your own website
or email, and your business contact
information. The exact content will be totally
up to you. To see an example, go to the
Membership Directory button on the menu at the
top of this page, then go to the online
directory and search for Chamber of Commerce.
Click on our listing and you will see an example
of what you can now put together for your own

sponsored for many years. The new
Calendar is dedicated to Chamber organized
and sponsored meetings and events so that
you can quickly and easily find information
on many of the services provided to you as a
member of the Chamber. To view the Chamber
Calendar of Events Go to

find a button on the front page that says
“Chamber Events”. This link takes you to
the new calendar, which provides details on
upcoming meetings, special events and more.

Online Membership Directory Gets New
Design
A NEWLY designed online Membership Directory
has been launched to better serve our
members and to assist in making business
referrals. To view the new format, go to
www.zmchamber.com and click on
the Membership Directory button located on
the left side of the home page. Potential
customers looking to do business in
Muskingum County can now locate Chamber
member businesses through searches by
business category, alphabetically, by
keyword and through Category Quick Links.

& MVHRMA PARTNER UP! The
Chamber of Commerce and the Muskingum Valley
Human Resource Management Association (MVHRMA)
recently announced they have joined forces in
what is expected to be a positive and mutually
beneficial partnership. As an affiliate
organization of the Chamber it is expected that
MVHRMA, also affiliated with the Society for
Human Resource Management (SHRM) will enjoy
increased awareness of the organization within
the community, as well as increased membership
and meeting attendance. It is also expected
that the new relationship will reduce costs and
provide availability to a wider resource of
speakers and programs for its membership. The
Chamber is confident that the affiliation with
MVHRMA will offer its members access to a
network of human resource professionals which is
particularly beneficial to small business
